Sustainability Strategy

At Rexiter, environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues have always been important to our investment philosophy and process as, historically, standards of corporate governance in many emerging markets have been poor.

In September 2004, we introduced an adaptation of our principal global emerging markets strategy – the global emerging markets sustainability strategy.

Having run the strategy for 5 years, we have come to the conclusion that ESG issues should be incorporated further into our core strategies, rather than running a stand alone product.

Client and market feedback has assisted us in making this decision to discontinue the sustainability strategy, and our principle investor in the strategy has decided to move their investment into our primary emerging markets strategy.

Whilst we still have the capability and experience to run an ESG specific fund, we will not be actively marketing the strategy, but rather, will continue working to include ESG factors into our emerging markets and Asian strategies.
